    Oakland Raiders Hall of Famer Gene Upshaw, the longtime NFLPA executive director, has died at age 63, according to numerous reports.

    Upshaw, an 11-time All-Pro guard for the Raiders, died from complications of pancreatic cancer.

    Upshaw played for the Raiders from 1967-81 and played on two of Oakland's Super Bowl winning teams. He was the only player to play on Super Bowl teams in three different decades ('60s, '70s and '80s). Upshaw was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1987. He was also named to the NFL's 75th Anniversary All-time Team ini 1994. He teamed with fellow Hall of Famers Jim Otto and Art Shell to form one of the most celebrated offensive lines in recent history.

    He served as the NFLPA's executive director since 1983, making him the longest-tenured labor leader in sports. Sphere: Related Content
